About: Russell Merryman's journalistic, production and innovation experience covers radio, television, online, interactive television, mobiles, TV-over-IP and broadband. This includes four years as Editor-in-Chief of Web and New Media at Al Jazeera English where he was responsible for the converged new media strategy for the new international news network which launched in November 2006. Prior to Al Jazeera, Russell was with the BBC where he was Interactive TV Development Manager for BBC News and Executive Producer, Broadband for BBC New Media. His work includes a number of high-profile services including the BBC News 24/7 Interactive Video service on Sky Digital, Broadband, Freeview and Cable; Enhanced Television services for the 2001 General Elections, Question Time, Panorama, Iraq - Britain Decides, You the Judge, Vote 2003, Clash of the Cities and others.
