About: Rathna Ramanathan is a practising graphic designer and Head of Design & Interaction on the Graphic Communication Design Programme at Central Saint Martins. She has her own design studio Minus9 Design. Through her studio, Rathna works with a range of clients including BBC World, World Bank, and Harvard University Press. Rathna has been directing design at Tara Books since 1996 and has won multiple international design awards for book design. She is ATypI's Country Delegate for India and advises on the design of Indic typefaces. Rathna holds a PhD in Graphic Communication and Typography and her current research is concerned with the changing form of published content and Tamil printed graphic ephemera.
